Formed in 1989, the classical, flute-guitar duo comprised of Montserrat Gascón and Xavier Coll has performed, recorded and toured extensively in Western and Eastern Europe, Central and South America, the Near East and the United States. Two previous compact discs were well-received by both critics and public and the duo is considered to be an established and exciting chamber ensemble in its native Catalunya, Spain. They have given premieres of numerous works written by the most outstanding composers in Spain (several of which have been dedicated to them) and the present recording includes three hitherto unrecorded works: the Tango Catalá of Joan Albert Amargós, Cynthia (Tango Flamenco) by Pedro Javier González and the Tango y Chacarera by Xavier Coll.
